The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce intends to announce its support for a bill in the Massachusetts House of Representatives that would classify gig workers, such as for ride sharing apps, as independent contractors and not employees. 

The chamber intends to show its support at an event on noon Tuesday at the Flying Rhino Cafe on Shrewsbury Street. The event is also being hosted by the Shrewsbury Street Area Merchants Association, and will feature restaurant owners and various gig workers who will also express support for the bill.
