New Podcast From Host James “Jimmy” Hills Shares Stories From Rideshare and Delivery Drivers

BOSTON, MA – March 7, 2024  Flexibility & Benefits for Massachusetts Drivers (FAB) is pleased to announce the launch of the “My Miles My Story” podcast with host James “Jimmy” Hills. On “My Miles My Story,” Hills speaks with rideshare and delivery drivers across the state who rely on their flexibility and independence to earn income on their own terms. The podcast is available now on PodBean and is a series of stories about drivers, told by drivers.

The first episode, “I’m Busy Because I’m Independent,” features Awet Teame of Brookline, an app-based driver who has been on the road with Uber and Lyft for over six years. As an artist and standup comedian, Teame reflects on the importance of her independence and her freedom to choose where, when, and how long she drives and with as many platforms she wants.

“The freedom to drive around my schedule gave me the opportunity to fulfill a certification I needed and allowed me to purchase my own vehicle,” said Teame. “I choose to continue driving because I have found a way to make it work for me. Being a rideshare driver with control of my own schedule lets me be the successful entrepreneur that I am, be an active member of my community, pursue my passions, and benefit from an improved health and life balance that I did not have at any previous corporate job.”

“My Miles My Story” is paid for by FAB, an enthusiastic and growing group of drivers, voters, community leaders, and small business owners who stand with the tens of thousands of app-based rideshare and delivery workers fighting for their flexibility and independence. The ballot effort, which is supported by more than 80% of drivers statewide, offers a solution that protects the jobs drivers depend on, while increasing their pay, creating access to new benefits, and codifying additional protections.
