Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about our initiative petitions. While we are collecting signatures on five versions, we only intend to put ONE on the ballot in 2024. We hope this will be one of the versions that maintains app-based driver independence and flexibility andalso requires companies to provide drivers with new benefits and protections.

Unfortunately, trial lawyers and special interest groups have already announced that they will sue to keep all these options off the ballot. They know voters and app-based drivers overwhelmingly support these proposals, which will ensure that drivers have the flexibility to work the schedules and assignments they choose. These trial lawyers and special interests are trying to use legal loopholes to deny voters – like you – a voice on  this important issue.

Collecting signatures on multiple versions of our petition is the best way to both defeat these expected lawsuits and give app-based drivers the chance to protect their flexibility and independence. By signing similar but distinct versions of these petitions, YOU can help ensure that rideshare and delivery drivers will have the opportunity to be heard at the ballot box in November 2024.

There are a few differences between the five petitions.

  • All five versions ensure that rideshare and delivery drivers will keep the flexibility and independence they overwhelmingly want
  • Three of the versions will also require rideshare and delivery companies to provide drivers with new benefits and protections, including a minimum earnings guarantee with per-mile compensation towards vehicle expenses, a healthcare stipend for drivers working as few as 15 hours a week, paid sick time, discrimination and work protections, and insurance for injuries that occur while online with the company’s application or platform.

The chart below outlines the distinguishing features of each of the five versions.
