Patricia H.

I am semi-retired, with a child in their sophomore year in college. Impacted by an involuntary reduction-in-force in November 2018, I chose to drive for a rideshare company to pay bills and make ends meet. My rationale was that my car is a valuable asset, and I need to put it to work for me and my family.

I continue to be grateful for the freedom and flexibility to drive and that I can do this when and where I choose. The people I serve are from all walks of life — students, healthcare professionals, executives, parents, etc., and I love that each day is an adventure, seeing parts of Massachusetts that I wouldn’t normally see.

I don’t believe I would continue to rideshare as an employee. I prefer to be my own boss.
